Choosing my top 10 Christmas gifts is always difficult, but fun. Given my long time interest in music and playing the guitar, the number one top Christmas gift is easy. I most want an acoustic or electric guitar for Christmas. Although extensive, I can carve down my wish list of presents to a final top 10 Christmas gifts when pressured.
The rest of my wish list of presents is fairly long, so it is going to be hard to cut it down to the top 10 Christmas gifts. Besides a guitar, I have recently considered learning to play the harmonica. Since I love jazz and blues music, playing the harmonica fits right in to my musical interests.
Another musical gift I would like is a small electric piano. Since it would not take up much room, I could put it almost anywhere in the house. I would also like to get some sheet music for the great jazz classics performed by Louis Armstrong and Herbie Hancock. I suppose my top 10 Christmas gifts should include something more practical also, so I would like a new pair of winter boots. Because I do not get along with the cold weather very well, keeping my feet warm with furry winter boots helps retain my sanity during the long winter months.
While staying practical in wishing for presents, I could ask for a few woolly sweaters to go along with the furry boots. I would not mind an electric blanket either. Popular books are generally on my Christmas list as well. Being a Harry Potter fan, I definitely want the next book and DVD when they come out.
Of course, there is always a nice bottle of perfume on the wish list. It hardly matters what the brand as long as it is a French perfume left under the tree. I know, I have expensive tastes, but dreaming is part of what makes the holidays fun.
Food is always a welcome gift and I like Belgian, chocolate truffles and English breakfast marmalade. Good wine is also a nice treat. That pretty much completes my top 10 Christmas gifts list, give or take a gift or two. I really do not mind what people get me as long as it is given with love and they have kept the receipt!
Others make lists too, but I like to try and surprise them with something not on their gift list. Sometimes, I will buy tickets for a holiday show like the Nut Cracker or even a sporting event for their favorite team. One goal is to stay away from giving gift cards if I can help it. They do not show a lot of originality, but I must admit I have bought them on occasion when I was desperate for gift ideas. Top 10 Christmas gifts for children and teenagers are generally popular computer games or ipods.
However, a few classic Christmas gifts that are openly welcome by kids and teenagers are classic board games, an old train set or doll house.
What I like most about the holiday season and Christmas is exchanging and giving presents. I love to find just the right gift for loved ones. Although the holiday season is typically about being with loved ones, sharing presents can be fun also. But remember, it is not just about our own personal top ten Christmas gift list.
